WHERE ARE THEY AT?
For the last few weeks, there has been a question that has been running through my mind. It is this: Where are they at? We are living in a world and a society that seems to be changing like we change our socks. The average shelf life for a computer is 6 months, then it is outdated. One minute the stock market is up; then it is down. We live in a society of no fault divorce. We pass the blame to the next person. In society today we are taught not to take responsibility for our own actions. The sad thing is that this mindset I feel is starting to creep into the church. In Acts 2:42-47, we read that all the believers were devoted to Christ. They were not devoted to a pastor or a program, they wanted to do what Jesus told them to do, to go and make disciple of all nations. They knew that God was going to be with them, He was going to give them the courage in the times of trial and persecution. This group of believers knew Christ in a way that I think that the church today does not. Sometimes when we speak the truth it is not gentle or plesant to hear, but Jesus said in John 8:32 "you will know the truth and the truth will set you free." Being devoted to Christ means that we will do whatever He asks of us, whenever He asks us to do it, wherever He wants us to go. Have we just put on Christ as an experiment or are we truly devoted to Him? Where are they at? God just wants a few good men and women whot are truly devoted to Him.
